Overview

Hansik Korea, nestled in the heart of Berlin at Ludwigkirchpl. 2, offers an authentic taste of Korean cuisine that will transport you straight to the bustling streets of Seoul. This small yet inviting restaurant has carved a niche for itself among locals and visitors alike who crave genuine flavors presented in a homely and balanced manner.

The menu features classic Korean staples with standout dishes such as Bibim-Bap and Bulgogi, which showcase the brand’s commitment to traditional preparation. The Bibim-Bap, served in a hot stone bowl, is a harmonious blend of rice, fresh vegetables, and marinated beef that delivers both warmth and depth, perfect for a comforting meal. For those looking for lighter options, the Tofu Salad and the Doenjang Soup with rice provide a delicate balance without sacrificing flavor.

Vegetarian and vegan diners will appreciate the plant-based options highlighted by the vegan dumplings, praised for their homely taste and satisfying texture. Another crowd-pleaser is the Bibim noodles, especially refreshing during summer months, offering a tangy and vibrant profile that contrasts beautifully with the restaurant’s richer dishes.

The intimate space of Hansik Korea is designed to balance cozy comfort with a touch of traditional charm, making it ideal for both casual catch-ups and date nights. Customers consistently comment on the warm and genuine hospitality, with staff who go out of their way to enhance each guest’s dining experience. Even on busy weekends, the patience required for a table’s turnover is well rewarded by the quality of the food and attentive service.

One cannot talk about Hansik Korea without mentioning its selection of Korean beverages. The soju and makgeolli flights provide a perfect introduction to Korean alcohol, complementing the meals and leaving a lasting impression. For a sweet finish, the hotteok—a Korean stuffed pancake—is a delightful choice, especially paired with ice cream on chillier days.

Hansik Korea caters to a diverse audience ranging from Korean cuisine aficionados to those seeking new culinary adventures. Its authentic flavors, combined with a welcoming atmosphere, ensure that each visit feels like a genuine journey into Korea’s rich food culture. Fell in love with the vegan dumplings and udong soup. Food tastes extremely homely, balanced and light. Staff genuinely cares about the guests and tries to make their experience the best they can. On a busy Saturday we had to wait longer for the food than usually, but the wait was worth it. Always come back to this place when I want a light but fulfilling meal!!! 1000/10

Old fashioned home cooking in a quaint space. Neither spice level nor funkiness turned down for the local palate--the kimchi soup had my nose running, with a hint of dried shrimp likely going into the preparation.

Small Korean restaurant with a good selection of dishes and drinks. I definitely recommend the bibim noodles in summer. It's a very refreshing dish and the taste is spot on. The service was very nice.

Went with some friends last Saturday and we had a really great time! I had the hot stone Bibimbap, my friends had the kimchi pancakes as a main along with the kimchi stew. All of which were delicious and a good portion size. The atmosphere is just as comfortable as the food which makes it a lovely place to check out with friends or as a date location :) We really enjoyed the soju/makgeolli drink flight that they had. The perfect intro taster if you haven’t had Korean alcohol before. My absolute favourite though was the hotteok for desert! Yuuuum especially in colder weather, or you can get some ice cream on the side. Overall wonderful experience and worth the trip on public transport to get there if you aren’t from the neighbourhood. Oh and I have to say the customer service was fantastic, warm, and welcoming. Thank you for a great evening!
